Today I got home at 4:30 from work. Had to stop to buy an anniversary card for Joe. We were planning to go to either Cajun Queen or to a resturant in the city for our anniversary.
We both got home about the same time and found Audrey acting peculiar. She was sitting in the corner on the umbrella peeing! The she went in an open box!
We were not sure if she was doing it because she was mad at us from a couple of days before when we clipped her front claws. So we take her to where her litterbox is and within 15 minutes she went in and out of it 3 times.
Immediately I though urinary track infection. I had a few of those and it is not fun.
We end up taking her to the vet at 6:30. We went to a new place and they are all very nice. Dr Murphy was going to take a urine sample, but Audrey’s bladder was empty. She said it sounded like it was the case so she gave us liquid medicine for her. We are to give it to her twice a day for 2 weeks. Then we need to take her back and have her checked.
Joe was really disappointed because he wanted to take me out. However we needed to have Audrey checked out. We couldn’t have her peeing all over the house!
Right now we have her confined to the living room. We don’t want her roaming in case she feels the urge to go.
Next week we are planning to go out to eat. Joe said that he is hoping that missing anniversaries doesn’t become part of a 2 year trend for us. Two years ago he was bringing me home from the hospital, last year was fine, and this year was Audrey being sick.
You never know when things are going to happen with pets that is for sure.
We did get to spend time together though, and that is really all that matters.

Today was a SUPER CRAZY BUSY day at work. Everyone was coming in to use their insurance and their flex spending accounts. We close at 1 and people were coming in at 12:30. This one lady said that she just realized that Monday was New Years and she had to use her benefits.
Here is the thing that drives me batty; customers that have to use their insurance and realize in December that they need to use it. If you are even a semi organized person and have a flex spending account you should know that you need to use your benefits by the end of the year or you lose them. People should put a sticker on their calendar in October to remind themselves of it. But instead people come in at the last minute and have all of us at work there an hour later to help them. I love helping people with their eyewear selections, but I wish they would schedule appointments when they can take their time. Not come in the door at the last possible minute.
Ugh frustrating!

Today Joe and I went to the Northlake Mall. First we went to AMC to see Rocky Balboa. We thought it would bring a little piece of Philly to us since we are staying in Charlotte for the Holidays.
After we went in the mall and I bought myself a Christmas shirt and sweater.
Then lunch at Fridays and we went to Target to pick up a few things and to get some things for the furries stockings.
We took this photo of ourselves outside the movie theatre.

Two years ago today I was having heart surgery. It went from the 23rd to the 24th I can’t believe it has gone by so fast.
I found out that I was born with a rare heart defect that no Dr ever caught because I did not have high blood pressure.
This time of year I am VERY THANKFUL that I was given a second chance at life. I am also EXTREMELY GRATEFUL to the wonderful Dr.’s and Nurses that performed the surgery and helped me on my road to recovery.

Today is the 17 year Anniversary of our Mothers death. It is hard to believe that she has been gone almost as long as I was alive at the time of her death.
She passed away on a Sunday as well.
I really wish that she could have lived long enough to see Eddie graduate High School.
She had her good days and bad days as all of us do. But she was a hands on Mom. And she had no problem telling you what she thought. We had the same temperment. Although I have mellowed with age. I remember she and I would have the most horrible fights. But after we would go to different rooms and I would always go in and apologize to her. She to me as well and all would be well with the world again.
She was a loving, caring all around wondeful Mother to Eve, Eddie and I.

Joe and I have always traveled to either family for the Holidays so we never really decorated where we are living. Plants and stockings sure, but not all out.
We decided not to go with a huge tree and opted for a small table tree instead. That and other decor for the house.
Today I went to Target. Bought the mini tree and ornaments. Too cute! With that and everything else it came to $150! And that is for a mini tree!!!!!!!!!!!!! The tree wasn’t even expensive. It was just everything else with it that added to that amount. I always have the Christmas spirit, but why does it have to cost so much to decorate?
