Mad with Young Trainers!

After Joe and I took Audrey to the vet we stopped by the gym. Joe had to cancel our membership since we are moving. He also had to make sure that they stopped making the withdrawls for my training sessions.

Joe explained what happened with Devin and how after she left I saw Michelle for a week, then was at Eddies wedding, then Michelle was on vacation. Chris the owner said. “Wait Devin left?”
So Joe again explained about how Devin told me that she was leaving for another full time job.

Apparently that fell through and Devin never told me. Not only that when I came back from the wedding and after Michelle was back from vacation no one ever called me!

I am so pissed off at young trainers. I have had bad luck with trainers and I don’t think that I am going to be hiring one again.
If you have a job to help get someone fit shouldn’t you call your clients to let them know what is going on?
Not only that… Devin was going to write me up a program that I was going to use with the exercise ball. (balance ball) I asked her about it 3 times and I even called her. She NEVER emailed it to me.

I don’t know if these trainers are young or if it is that they are working for someone else so they don’t care.

Joe and I are thinking of joining the YMCA in Charlotte. If we do I am just going to take some different classes that have different instructors. They can make sure I am doing the exercises correctly, and I don’t have to shell out money to trainers that don’t care.

It just boggles my mind. What do they think that we just want to waist our money? I don’t think that they should even get in the business if they are not interested in helping people.

I just can’t believe it!

The good side to it is that Chris didn’t give us any problems about it. I would have put up a stink if he did. He apologized up and down about it. At least we know that he cares about his clients. Now if he would only hire people that care as much as he does.

Frustrated with trainers!

This year I have been trying to better myself. In many ways, but one way is fitness. To get myself on a routine, and become stronger.

I workout at a very nice establishment, but they have a problem with the personal trainers that they hire. They just don’t seem to care. At least the ones that I worked with. (it seems that way anyway)

When Joe and I joined the gym in May of 2005 we hired a trainer. He was great at first, but then became flaky and ended up just not showing up to work and quitting.

Then I worked out on my own for awhile, but back this past March decided to work with someone new. She was great! Very nice! But she found another job elsewhere. Which is fine in and of itself. However she said before she left that she would write up a routine that I could do once I move to Charlotte. She promised every day that she would email me the information.

Guess what? She never did! UGH!!!!

So I started with yet another trainer this morning. She is very nice. But I find out just as I am starting with her that she is going to be on vacation June 1st through the 8th.
That is not anyones fault. But I am not going to have a different trainer for one week.

Plus Joe and I are moving on the 19th of June.

Joe is going to speak with the owner when we get back from our trip next week. We have to cancel our membership anyway. I did sign a contract for training for 6 months. However Joe and I did not know we were going to be moving at the time.

So what it comes down to is this. I am making this week the last week that I am going to work with the personal trainer.

It is just too frustrating to me! I am sure that I will not be charged for the last couple months. I better not be. It just disappoints me. I really want a trainer that is going to be great and that is going to push me.
But since I have gone through working with 3 already. I don’t know if I am going to want to do that when we move to Charlotte.
I may just workout with DVDs.

I will see what the future holds. I am getting stronger and I don’t want to lose that. I am going to buy some heavier dumbells and workout with strength bands as well.

I just want to keep getting stonger and healthier! That is the ultimate goal. Trainer or no trainer.

4th

week of working out with my personal trainer Devyn. She is a really great trainer. She changes the workouts every week.
I however have to bump up my cardio workouts. The 3 days I meet with her I do 30 minutes of cardio after the strength training.

At least I am in the routine of working out 3 days a week now. Now it is adding more cardio in the mix of things.

It is almost

the middle of March! The time is flying. I am not where I would like to be as far as fitness is concerned. Joe and I have been working our butts off!
Still no excuse. We did make it to the gym on Saturday and we have 3 days that we are planning on going next week. I am going to get on the treadmill as soon as I get home tomorrow evening.

I have to focus! My brothers wedding is 2 months away and I really want to feel good as well as be down a dress size. I think that if i really focus on it I can do it.

All I know is if the months keep flying by like the last few have it is going to be the end of the year and I don’t want to be disappointed in myself again when it comes to my fitness goals.

Pilates

I am surprised that I am loving pilates as much as I am. I have been working out with the treadmill and pilates the last couple weeks and I can already see some results! Pilates is really starting to mold my body!
Haven’t checked the scale.(and won’t till the day of my physical) But I notice my waist is a bit thinner and my thighs are looking better!

Not only that Pilates is very relaxing! I recommend it to anyone that has not tried it!

workout

This weekend I did well with my workout. Worked on the treadmill yesterday and even jogged a bit. Today I did pilates. I am just trying to get something in 4 to 5 days a week. The last couple of weeks it didn’t happen. But going to do my best from this day forward.

Back at the gym

today. The guy at the gym looked at Joe and I this morning like he hasn’t seen us for years!
Months maybe, but definitely not years!

Strength training day today.

Joe and I are going to be going to the gym 3 mornings a week for strength training and going to use the treadmill at home for cardio.

It used to be so hard going to the gym, because we would have to be there for over 2 hours. We would work cardio for 45 minutes then strength training. And I could never get all of the strength training in that I needed to. Because we wouldn’t get to the gym till after 530 somedays….
Ugh…

Now the routine is better and that is all that matters right?

Monthly goal

Trying to get in 6 days on the treadmill a week. Tonight it kicked my butt! I know that I have to work my way up to fitness, but when it was as hard it was to get through the workout tonight…
well I wonder if I am ever going to get in better shape then i am now.
One day at a time. That is all what I need to focus on.

Fitness Goals for 2006

I made a goal to workout on the treadmill every day, unless I am sick.

Last week I got in 4 days.

Even if I am only on it for 10 minutes, my goal is every day on the treadmill.

Joe and I are going to the gym 3 days a week to work use strength training machines.

I am trying to walk a 1.5 miles this at 3.0 speed. I am going to up my miles and and speed as I improve.

Unfortunately my neck was killing me today, so I didn’t get in any workout today, but tomorrow is a new day.
