Today is Dads Birthday.

This year is an extra special Birthday. It is his first Birthday being retired! I don’t think he is used to it yet.

I think he will be soon and really enjoy getting to do what he wants to do when he wants to do it. He will also have alot more time to spend with Cheryl. They were always working differnt schedules.

I bought a flower planter about a month ago and planted yellow mums and 2 fuschia aster.

I was thinking that the weather would be going down to the 80s. We are having a freak heat wave now. It has been in the 90s for the last couple weeks. I tried keeping them watered, but nothing has helped.

I am going to wait to the first week in October and buy some more mums and plant them. I am also going to get a second planter to hang off the the window and plant some pansies.

I hate that the plants have died. Luckily they are affordable! 

I had a bit of a lull at work today and I was in my email. I had emails as old as November of 2004!

That is the month before my heart surgery!

When I have more time I am going to look through them more closely. I did see one that I wrote to Maribeth about how Joe and I went out and met some new people. It was Julianna!

Wow the time really flies by! Almost 3 years since that email and almost 3 years since my surgery.

Today would have been Moms Birthday if she was still living.  It is her Birthday.

Still miss her… will never stop.  I wonder where my life would have taken me if she were still living.

Today is the slowest day ever! At work and there is nothing going on.

I did make a nice fall display this morning. A couple of patients have been attracted to it. That is a good thing!

This past weekend Joe and I wanted to see Across the Universe. We were really bummed to find out that they are holding it from wide release. There is a fight going on with the creator and the movie studio. The movie studio wants her to cut out 30 minutes of the movie and she refuses. I am hoping that it at least gets to DVD because I REALLY want to see it!

Jamie’s Birthday

Tonight Joe and I went to Lauri and John’s place in Uptown Charlotte to help Celebrate Jamie’s 28th Birthday!

Lee and Dave came as well. We all had a wonderful time great food and great conversation.

I recently signed up for a Capital One credit card. The benefits to signing seemed pretty sweet at the time. No interest till January and $50 credit bonus for signing with them.

I was to receive my $50 credit to my account after a month. Last week I went on line and saw that instead of creditting my account $50 they Charged me $50!!!!!!!!!!!

I called last week to have it taken care of and the supervisor told me it would take about a week. It was not creditted so I called today and spoke to another supervisor. She was very nice and helpful and said that it was definitely their fault. It may take up to a billing cycle to get it corrected. They need to take the $50 charge off as well as credit me an additional $50.

The one good thing is since there is no interest I am not being charged for it.

It makes me upset that it is going to take so long for the credit to be posted to my account. With Capital One being such a big company shouldn’t they have someone that could see the mistake and credit it right away?

So today I feel like Capital One Sucks!

Joe wrote a business article and a couple days ago it was on the front page of Yahoo!

Since it was put up he has been getting calls and email.  He is going to be on an NPR station next week for a radio interview about the article her wrote.

It is so wonderful to see Joe getting the recognition that he deserves.  He loves writing so it makes it all the more special. 

A couple weeks ago I went back to Athens to visit with my friend Lee.

While we were there we went to see the movie Once.

It is my favorite movie of 2007!

Joe and I were away a couple weeks ago. We spent time at the shore with Dad and the family. Had a really nice and relaxing time.

We celebrated Eves 40th at Buca Di Beppos. Lots of fun!

It was nice to spend time with everyone!
